Little Tokyo Jakarta is essentially a small area in the Kebayoran Baru district, South Jakarta. It’s located right in front of Blok M Square, covering Jalan Melawai VI, Jalan Melawai VII, Jalan Melawai IX, and Jalan Melawai Raya in the Blok M area of South Jakarta.

Rumor has it that the area around Aldiron Plaza, now part of Blok M Square, has been a gathering place for Japanese expatriates working in Jakarta since the 1990s. Over time, the number of expatriates has increased, as have their needs, both daily necessities and entertainment.

As a result, various Japanese-themed restaurants, bars, and karaoke joints have sprung up in this area. For example, Kira Kira Ginza restaurant has been standing on Jalan Melawai Raya since 1985. This authentic Japanese restaurant is one of the oldest and remains popular to this day.
